Tidbit Tuesday - Having Intention
Hello,
Welcome to another Tidbit Tuesday where we aim to teach you something new about health, nutrition, lifestyle, training, and so much more, every week!
Today we are talking about starting your day with intention!
To make the most out of any day, week, month, or even year, we must deliberately choose how we spend our time.
Without intention we end up just counting the days as they go by, rather than making our days count!
How you start your day sets the tone, context, and the direction for the day that you will live out.
Meaning, that, if you can win your morning, you win your day.
But, instead, how many of us just want to stay in bed and hit that snooze button a few times?
What kind of day does that set us up for?
We have to wake up and start our day because we WANT TO!
Being excited to start your day leads to greater personal development.
And your level of success will never surpass your level of personal development.
Think about that. If you are unhappy with something in your life, it won't improve unless you intentionally do something about it.
Very rarely do things just randomly improve for us. We have to put in the effort!
If you intend on making the most of your day and getting ahead in life, I strongly encourage you to look into "The Miracle Morning" by Hal Elrod.
He talks about developing a consistent routine to practice each morning to prepare yourself for the day.
By starting each and every day by, consistently, setting your intention for the day you will be able to replace any resentment you have with gratitude.
If you can wake up each day with gratitude, you can accept life exactly as it is.
And by accepting life as it is, you won't resist the things that are out of your control. Which is what causes most people’s stress, anxiety, and depression.
Worrying about things out of our control is a complete waste of our time and energy.
If it is out of your control, you can't change it, so why allow it to destroy you internally?
The vast majority of things we stress and worry about never actually happen anyways.
I'm going to ask you a question, and I want you to consider the answer for a while. Maybe even take a day to really think about your answer and weigh the many options.
What would it mean for you to be free, for the rest of your life?
Really consider your answer. What would make you "free"?
Is it financial freedom you seek? More free time? The freedom to move better? To move pain free? To feel confident in your own skin?
This may look a little different for all of us. Let me know what freedom looks like to you.
Regardless of what your freedom may look like, there are similar processes that we can initiate to take steps towards that freedom!
The two most important things that you can do to move yourself towards freedom?
1. Accept and love your life unconditionally. Our mindset and how we perceive our experiences will change the world around us. We must choose to be happy regardless of outcomes.
2. We must put in extraordinary effort. And no this doesn't mean doing something drastic or crazy. It simply means that we try to do something EVERYDAY to move the needle in the right direction. Even if it is something small.
When you finally reach your goal, the timing is always perfect. The longer it takes and the more hurdles you overcome the better it will feel.
Enjoy the process and be committed to your process without being emotionally attached to your results.
Do this and it is only a matter of time before you absolutely crush whatever goal you strive for.
Another strategy that you can use to improve your chances of success is to redefine your goal.
What I mean by this is that the purpose of your goal, and not the goal itself, is what is truly important.
If your goal is to lose 20 pounds in 3 months, and the outcome is that you lose 15 pounds in 3 months, would you consider this a success?
Maybe you didn't do EXACTLY what you set out to do. But did you make a change and start showing up almost every day to improve yourself?
You're going to achieve your goal regardless of the time frame that you chose for yourself.
Now what if you had never started?
It would still be 3 months later and you would still have 20 pounds to lose, maybe more.
Give this a try; for the next 7 days, every morning, you will affirm what you are COMMITTED too, affirm WHY it is deeply meaningful to you, which SPECIFIC actions will you take and WHEN!
Happy Miracles!
